Hi. To those who have been waiting for more updates, sorry for the long absence.

In the past months that I’ve been quiet, I’ve realized a grave mistake on my part as a translator. That is, that I should still ask for artists’ permission to translate, edit and share their work. It’s supposed to be common sense, really, but I suppose that want to “share something good” can blind you from good morals at times.

It took me long (far too long, perhaps) to say this, but I’ve decided to close this blog. I will delete all the posts in this blog except this one.

Timingly so, I’ve received a notice from Kumiko Baba (坂東 from Pixiv) to remove posts containing her art on this blog, and all the reblogs if possible.
So… to all those who reblogged “June Bride” (Akusai), please delete those reblogs! And if possible, don’t post her art without her permission anymore! Please continue to support Kumiko Baba (坂東 from Pixiv) by bookmarking or ranking her art.

With all that said, goodbye.

Your ask is closed now so this is the only place I see to say this - if at all possible you can still grab at least one reblog URL from each post of yours (or the direct URL to the image file would be best), you could direct the artists to http://tumblr.com/dmca for them to report it and specifically tell tumblr staff “delete all reblogs”. Tumblr will then remove the artwork and all reblogs. It would’ve been easier if you had set your posts to private so you had an unchanging URL for them to use.

And if you’re going to advocate having the artist’s permission to use their work, you should probably clear out your sidebar image and blog avatar.

While I appreciate translations, it makes me happy to know someone else realized credit and disclaimers are not the same as having permission.

Hi, thanks for the tip, and the heads up on the sidebar image and blog avatar (slipped my mind to remove them).

Thanks. Have a good day.

I used this image because I’ve seen it posted without a source SO many times.  (I’m looking at you Disney fandom)

Artwork - [x]

I’m gonna go ahead and signal boost the living fuck out of this.

THIS

ALSO, Chrome has this feature you can add as an extension. It lets you right click on an image and find the source without having to drag the picture on the desk top or without having to copy and paste the link- it just saves time. There is also SauceNao, which I believe is solely for Pixiv sources?

also, to differentiate between the original and a repost: 1.) not always failsafe, but look at the notes (especially if it’s a popular piece, those usually have notes in the thousands) 2.) go to the source tumblr to see if they have more art of the same style, or if they have more reposts of art by different artists

We are five artists who would like to extend as much help as we can to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan which devastated the Visayas region of Philippines last week. Hoping that by doing something we love, we would be able raise more than what we can actually give by ourselves. :)
Here’s how it goes. By donating 30$ (or PhP1300) to the Philippine Red Cross, you will get 5 sets of cute chibi drawings from Karla, Mookie, Savy, Shei and Demi. You can also commission us individually by donating 7$ (Php300). But please take note that we can only accept 5 slots for individual commissions and Savy is not open for individual commissions.
Package commissions are automatically accepted so you can make your donation without our approval, but individual commissions will require confirmation first so don’t pay just yet! Email Demi at demidemidemi@yahoo.com to inquire about individual artists’ slots.
Ready to donate and get drawings from us? The Philippine Red Cross offers a lot of ways to accept donations. Paypal donation is open to those interested who are overseas. While those who are currently in the Philippines can deposit their donations to the Philippine Red Cross account on any bank listed at their page.
Here is the simple requirement: An email with a copy of your paypal donation receipt (or a copy of your bank deposit slip) is needed to confirm the donation. Please send it to demidemidemi@yahoo.com along with your art requests. Remember when requesting: Nothing your momma wouldn’t approve of!
Please support us and spread the word~Thank you!

friendly reminder

urdchama:

sourceyoshit:

A source is the place where the content was originally posted. Don’t reblog a post if it doesn’t have a source!

image

  • Zerochan/weheartit/fanpop/-boorus/facebook are not sources. thank aggregators but credit artists.
  • artists (including cosplayers!!) deserve to be recognized for their work and appreciated for sharing it with us.
  • Don’t reblog people who don’t appreciate artists! don’t reblog image editors who don’t link to originals.
  • link to the artist, not aggregators

Additional remarks:

image

  • sie sind das essen und wir sind die sourcer♪

image (x)

  • unless you already source/reblog sourced posts IN WHICH CASE

image

  • thank artists for drawing cute boys (and girls)
  • encourage artists to draw more cute boys (and girls) and hopefully that one scenario you thought of where your fave character █████ with his ███ and then ████████████ so █████ tied up █████████████████████ until he almost passes out
  • help fellow fans further damage their broken fangirl hearts by linking back to artists who know how to make you cry in all the right ways

so motivational and relevant to my interests. XD

A+
